ONE – Revision of “EU ETS Surcharge (ETS)” – Update Mar 01st, 2024 – Effective from April 1st, 2024
Starting from January 1st, 2024, the maritime transportation industry has been included in the scope of the European Union Emission Trading System (hereinafter referred to as “EU ETS”).
In relation to the announcement made on December 1st, 2023, ONE has reviewed and updated the EU ETS tariff, which will come into effect from April 1st, 2024. This will apply to all existing contracts and new contracts that have commenced on and after January 1st, 2024.
The tariff shall be reviewed every quarterly; however, this is subject to change with prior notification.

- Non-FMC regulated trades: April 1st, 2024
- FMC regulated trades*, Canada: April 1st, 2024 (*United States, American Samoa, Puerto Rico, Guam, Saipan, Hawaii)
*ETS Surcharge Tariff Chart (USD) (effective from April 1st, 2024 to June 30th, 2024)
The ETS surcharge will not be applicable to export cargo from China. Instead of a surcharge, the ETS portion will be incorporated and considered as a part of freight.
