[MSC Vietnam] New process for invoice of Storage for Import and Export at Haiphong Ports effective from Jul 15th, 2024

MSC Vietnam Company Limited – As agent for MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A, Geneva please be informed that:

MSC Vietnam will be issuing invoice for storage charges for cargoes shipped from/to Haiphong, Vietnam. This process will be effective on 15th July 2024, vessel arrival date (ETA). Please be informed that the current storage rates and free storage days remain unchanged and align with current practice:

Note:
• The above rate is exclusive of Tax and subject to VAT 5.26%
• (*) Consignee on BL will be the party on container deposit form. Finalization deadline for container deposit is 14 days from last empty container to depot. When the last empty containers are returned, by Refund function in MSC EDO Portal, please send container deposit refund request for BL or multiple BLs. After respective costs finalization, MSC will wise out the offset amount to your registered bank account. You are responsible for paying us when costs are over container deposit. If the consignee wants to finalize container deposit after offsetting related expenses for the third party, the consignee needs to fill in information of the third party when performing the Refund function in EDO portal.

Key Point:

Effective July 15, 2024, MSC Vietnam will issue invoices for storage charges at Haiphong ports. The current storage rates and free storage days remain unchanged. Consignees listed on the Bill of Lading (BL) will be responsible for container deposits, which must be finalized within 14 days of returning the last empty container. Storage charges are subject to a VAT of 5.26%. Refund requests for container deposits can be processed via the MSC EDO Portal, and any costs exceeding the deposit must be paid by the consignee.

🔄 Container Deposit Handling: Consignees on BL responsible for container deposits. Finalization deadline is 14 days from last empty container return.
📤 Refund Process: Via MSC EDO Portal; refunds processed after cost finalization.
🏦 Payment Responsibility: Consignees must pay costs exceeding container deposit.
🔄 Third-Party Finalization: Consignees can designate third parties for finalization in EDO Portal.

4th to 7th day: 36,000 VND (20ft) / 54,000 VND (40/45ft)
8th to 14th day: 45,000 VND (20ft) / 69,000 VND (40/45ft)
Over 15th day: 69,000 VND (20ft) / 105,000 VND (40/45ft)

📆 Export Storage Free Days: 4 days for both 20ft and 40/45ft containers
💵 Export Storage Charges:
5th to 7th day: 36,000 VND (20ft) / 54,000 VND (40/45ft)
8th to 14th day: 45,000 VND (20ft) / 69,000 VND (40/45ft)
Over 15th day: 69,000 VND (20ft) / 105,000 VND (40/45ft)

💰 Container Deposit for Import:
200,000 VND for 20ft dry container
300,000 VND for 40/45ft dry container
Additional charges for reefer containers

📝 Remarks:
➡️Storage days for imports are calculated from the vessel’s berthing date to the laden gate-out date.
➡️Storage days for exports are calculated from laden gate-in to ETA provided by MSC.
➡️Dangerous or OGG containers have the same free time but their tariffs are 1.5 times those of dry containers.
➡️Container deposit refunds are processed via the MSC E-port after all charges are finalized.

💵 Export Storage Charges: Over 22nd day: 36,000 VND (20ft) / 50,000 VND (40/45ft)

📝 Remarks:
➡️Import: Storage days are calculated from the berthing date of the vessel to the laden gate-out date. Both days are counted.
➡️Export: Storage days are calculated from laden gate-in to the load-on-vessel date. Both days are counted.
➡️Dangerous or OOG Containers: Tariffs are 1.5 times those of dry containers.
